USF Health physician now holds top post of World Allergy Organization
Dr. Richard Lockey, who leads USF Health’s nationally-recognized Division of Allergy and Immunology, became president of the World Allergy Organization this January.
Dr. Lockey, Distinguished University Health Professor and director of Allergy and Immunology at USF and James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, will hold the two-year term, which began this January, and will lead the international umbrella organization representing 84 regional and national allergy and clinical immunology societies across the world. By collaborating with member societies, WAO provides direct educational outreach programs, symposia and lectureships to members in 92 countries.
