USF ENT surgeon tapped to lead Florida Society of Otolaryngology
USF Health’s Tapan A. Padhya, MD, has been named president of the Florida Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, an organization representing 750 ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons across the state. He was installed for a one year term on Nov. 12 at the society’s annual meeting in Naples, FL
Dr Padhya is an associate professor and vice chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, director of the Division of Head and Neck Oncology, and co-director of the ENT Sleep and Snoring Program at the USF College of Medicine. He is an Associate Attending Surgeon of Moffitt Cancer Center’s Head and Neck Oncology Program.
Dr. Tapan Padhya
Dr. Padhya is a fellow of both the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is consistently named to the Best Doctors in America list.
He received his MD degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at the Methodist Hospital of Indiana and his residency training in head and neck surgery at the University of Louisville Medical Center in Kentucky. Dr. Padhya received fellowship training in advanced head and neck surgical oncology from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio and participated in a visiting fellowship at Tata Memorial Hospital in Bombay, India.
His current research and clinical interests include health care disparities in head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, skull base tumors and improving surgical outcomes for sleep apnea.
The Florida Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery is an organization that promotes and advances the clinical, educational, and business practices of otolaryngology throughout the state of Florida and provides a strong voice on the behalf of ENT surgeons in Tallahassee and Washington D.C.
