New website lets students apply online for biomedical graduate programs

The USF College of Medicine Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs has launched a new website that allows prospective students to apply to its PhD and MS programs online.

The student-friendly website contains information about the college’s diverse array of certificate, master’s and doctoral programs that range from anatomy to women’s health. The offerings include the hallmark PhD in Integrated Biomedical Sciences, which encourages collaboration among scientists of all disciplines and allows students to tailor programs to their individual needs and interests.

The site also features a social media component, student profiles section and updates on the latest research news at USF Health. Yelenis Herrera, a PhD student working in the field of stroke research, is one of the first students profiled in a podcast.

Participation in the college’s graduate programs has risen more than 50 percent in the last three years, driven largely by innovative master’s and certificate programs responsive to market demands. Students have a wealth of opportunities to join faculty in cutting-edge basic science and translational research sponsored by academia, industry and government.
