Several SPTRS Faculty serve on teams awarded grants by the USF Women’s Health Collaborative for 2014-2015 cross-collaborative research on women’s health topics. Grant funding totaling $50,000 is being awarded to six interdisciplinary teams which include:
- Patricia Teran-Yengle, PT, PhD; Seok Hun Kim, PT, PhD; Douglas Haladay, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, CSCS; and William Quillen, PT, DPT, PhD, FACSM; and MCOM colleagues who were awarded $7833 for Knee Biomechanics and Muscle Activation Patterns during Gait in Female Dancers.
- John Mayer, DC, PhD; Douglas Haladay, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, CSCS; and USF colleagues who were awarded $7600 for Quantitative analysis of core performance following autologous breast reconstruction.
The mission of the USF Women’s Health Collaborative is “to develop real-world solutions to improving health care for women through a commitment to the full spectrum of Women’s Health, provided in an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating all colleges of USF Health in research, education clinical care missions, community partnership and education and promotion of leadership by women in academic medicine” according to Dr. Catherine Lynch, Associate Vice President of USF Women’s Health.
