USF Health SPTRS and BRIDGE Clinic were represented by DPT2 students Brittany Davis, Claire Millman, and Emily Ojea, at the 2015 Society of Student-Run Free Clinics Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on February 7-8. Ms. Davis and Ms. Ojea presented a poster titled “Determining a Correlation Between Patient Attendance, Satisfaction, and Outcomes.”

The students were also among USF Health students honored to meet with Vice Admiral (VADM) Vivek H. Murthy, the Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Service. As America’s Doctor, he is responsible for communicating the best available scientific information to the public regarding ways to improve personal health and the health of the nation.

The conference featured presentations by students in health professions from various institutions who participate in student run free clinics for underserved communities, such as BRIDGE, the student-run free clinic at USF Health that serves uninsured members of the University Area Community. Dr Rebecca Edgeworth, SPTRS Assistant Clinical Professor, serves as the faculty liaison for physical therapy students who volunteer at BRIDGE.
