Dr. Seok Hun Kim (Co-Principal Investigator) collaborating with Dr. Kyle Reed (Principal Investigator) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering received a grant for $199,858 from the National Science Foundation, Partnership for Innovation: Accelerating Innovation Research – Technology Translation for support of a project entitled “PFI: AIR-TT: Enhancing the Balance and Control of Crutch Walking Using a Novel Crutch Tip”.

Dr. Jason Highsmith received funding for two awards from the Department of Defense office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.  The first is from the Clinical Rehabilitative Medicine Research Program for $1.46M over 3 years for a study entitled “Prosthetic Smart Technology to Improve Patient Interaction, Usability, Comfort, Fit and Function”.  The second is from the Orthotics and Prosthetics Outcomes Research Program for $1.3M over 3 years for a study entitled  “The IM ABLE Study: A Cross-Sector, Multisite Initiative to Advance Care for Warriors and Veterans Following Neuromusculoskeletal Injury of the Lower Limb”.
