SPTRS DPT students, across two campuses, spent Saturday, October 17 helping great causes on the Global PT Day of Service. The Global PT Day of Service’s purpose is to unite the Physical Therapy profession in a global effort to better our communities!
In Pensacola, Brittany Crocker, Stephanie Lindsey, Tyler Smith, Bryce Showers, Danielle Sims, Gabrielle Moser, and Renea Porsch volunteered to install landscaping for three houses in a housing development for low income families. They spent the day laying sod and planting trees and shrubs.
Eleven Tampa students, Brittany Davis, Aubrey Hawkins, Tara Letson, Katelin Foley, Julian La, Kaitlyn Edwards, Kelsey Brown, Ashley Singleton, Arlene Shi, Jeffrey Douglas, and Juhi Gupta performed balance and functional evaluation screenings for the residents of University Village. The students worked in an interprofessional setting with PharmD students from the USF Health College of Pharmacy.
