The USF Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program was recently awarded a ten year re-accreditation by the American Board of Physical Therapy & Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE). This is the longest accreditation length a program can be granted by this organization that oversees PT residencies and fellowships. These opportunities allow physical therapists to become specialized and advance their knowledge and clinical practice beyond their generalist training in a DPT program.
Dr. Klein, the residency program director said “this only continues to show the strength of our educational opportunities at USF Health and within our School, and the success of our orthopaedic residency program.” The Orthopaedic Residency program was founded in 2015, and has since maintained 100% graduation and board certification for the graduates.
The residency program includes didactic coursework, clinical practice, and research. Many of the graduates of the program are able to become published as a result of their research during the residency program, and collaboration with our faculty and clinical partners.
