Jeannie Stephenson, PT, PhD, NCS gave a platform presentation at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections meeting in Washington, DC on Jan. 24, 2019. Her talk was part of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy’s Degenerative Diseases Special Interest Group platform presentations. She presented on the “Relationship between Gait and Balance in People with Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 6,” which summarized baseline results of the NIH funded trial “Dysmetria and Motor Function in SCA: Mechanisms and Rehabilitation.” Dr. Stephenson was Co-I on this study conducted by Dr. Evangelos Christou (PI) and a team of researchers of the University of Florida Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology.
