Dr. Laura Lee (Dolly) Swisher, SPTRS Coordinator of Professional Education, Professor, and Assistant Dean for Interprofessional Education at the USF Morsani College of Medicine, has been named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
The FAPTA designation is the highest honor among APTA’s membership categories and honors Dr Worthingham, an effective, respectful, and honest change agent who motivated others to make an impact within the physical therapy profession. Dr Worthingham was a visionary who demonstrated leadership across the domains of advocacy, education, practice, and research.
As a recipient, Dr Swisher is in an elite group recognized for their contributions to the profession through leadership, influence, and achievements. Fellows have demonstrated frequent and sustained efforts to advance the profession for more than 15 years. She will be officially recognized in June at the APTA NEXT Meeting in National Harbor, Maryland.
