Dr. Stephenson publishes article in Applied Sciences Journal

Dr. Jeannie Stephenson co-authored an article entitled “Use of Wearable Sensor Technology in Gait, Balance and Range of Motion Analysis,” which was recently published in Applied Sciences Journal. She published this article along with Steven Diaz, MS, a PhD student in USF’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Miguel Labrador, PhD, professor of Computer Science and Engineering. This paper is a systematic review of the literature on the use of body-worn sensors in gait, balance and ROM research with a focus on their use in neurologic disorders. The paper was part of a special issue of Applied Sciences on “Computing and Artificial Intelligence.”

Dr. Stephenson is an assistant professor in the USF School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences and her research is focused on quantitative analysis of gait and balance in individuals with neurodegenerative disorders.
