Dr. Seok Hun Kim and his research team (Drs. Jason Highsmith and Kyle Reed) have been notified that their proposed research will receive a $24, 895 Small Grant Award by the Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF). In this study, Dr. Kim’s research team will determine the effects of a split-belt treadmill gait training program on functional walking in people with unilateral transfemoral amputation.
Based in Washington, DC, and established in 2008, the OPERF awards grants to researchers in the orthotics and prosthetics profession with the goal of increasing the knowledge of clinicians so that the best possible care is provided to patients.
