Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for Transfemoral Amputation (TFA) Prosthetic Socket Fitting

Recently a group of researchers from Hanger Clinics, James A. Haley VA Hospital, and our USF School of Physical Therapy published the first evidence based clinical practice guidelines on transfemoral socket fitting. From our school M. Jason Highsmith, PhD, PT, DPT, CP, FAAOP (Left) – Alumni and Researcher and Rebecca Miro, PhD (Right) – Research Administrator assisted with the study along with Jason Kahle and James Highsmith. The publication was released via PubMed and Prosthetics and Orthotics International.

The team completed a funded, randomized controlled trial on transfemoral socket fittings, and have published findings from 2015-2022.
