ACAPT National Physical Therapy Student Honor Society

This week we inducted our inaugural students into the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) National Student Honor Society. This society was created in 2018 to recognize Doctor of Physical Therapy students who:

  • Demonstrate excellence, integrity, and professionalism in areas of:
    • academic achievement (top 25%)
    • leadership,
    • service or research, and
    • demonstrate strong moral character, ethics and the core values of the PT profession

This year we inducted two of our graduated into the Society, Emily Jaffe (Left) and Skye Haddock (right). They both will have their names listed as inductees, and receive an ACAPT certificate and pin.

Emily Jaffe

Emily has excelled academically in our program, and has provided numerous volunteer hours giving back to our local community and the profession. Her Group Capstone Research Project focused on Efficacy of Shared-Decision Making on Clinical Outcome Measures in Adults with Low Back Pain, and was completed with fellow classmates and their mentor Dr. Haladay.  Emily has volunteered with Florida Special Olympics, USF Health Bridge Clinic, Fall Prevention Days, and Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Foundation. Emily has also served as a tutor for our Anatomy and Physiology courses, giving back to her fellow classmates.

Skye Haddock
