USF Health College of Nursing Partners with The Beck Group for Expansion Building Project
TAMPA, Fla. (May 8, 2023)– The architecture and construction firm, The Beck Group, is leading efforts on the USF College of Nursing’s building expansion project set to open in January 2025.
The project encompasses a complete re-envisioning of how nursing education is delivered as the college increases enrollment to address the nursing shortage. Through the support of the Florida legislature, $33 million was awarded to the college in the FY23 budget to improve infrastructure on USF’s Tampa campus.
The improvements include space for state-of-the-art simulation education and clinical care training with a collaborative focus on nursing education.
As the designer and builder, Beck is maximizing its resources to meet the ever-changing demands of educating the future nursing workforce.
“This project is an incredible opportunity to expand enrollment for future nurses and increase care in our community. We’re building on the school’s fantastic location and collaborative spaces. However, the effort goes beyond delivering a project. Beck is proud to use design to transform the educational experience for the trailblazers in the College of Nursing,” says Beck Regional Director Ryan Toth.
Dean Usha Menon and the USF College of Nursing team are working closely with Beck to highlight the changing needs in nursing education and explore how design can improve how the college delivers healthcare education.
“Our partners at Beck take into account every detail we share, says Dean Usha Menon. “It’s evident how deeply they care for us and our (future) nursing students.”
