Skanska Transforms Parking Space for the Mo-Bull Nurse Medical Clinic at USF College of Nursing
TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2023) – When the Mo-Bull Nurse Medical Clinic rolled onto the USF Tampa campus in March, Skanska committed to aiding in the construction of a nightly home for the unit. The Gulf Coast’s first completely nurse-managed Mo-Bull clinic required more than just typical lined pavement.
Skanska fully funded and commissioned the work for the brand-new ‘Care for Life Station Powered by Skanska,’ complete with the requisite connections for water, electricity, and sewage.
“Finding parking isn’t easy for the smallest of vehicles, let alone a spot with the proper hook-ups for a 38-foot retrofitted RV,” said Usha Menon, dean of the College of Nursing and senior associate vice president for USF Health. “Skanska’s unwavering support in constructing a dedicated parking space for our mobile health unit stands as a testament to their remarkable generosity and commitment to community well-being.”
“Care for life is one of our core values at Skanska and we are committed to showcasing how we care through our actions each and every day,” said Daniel Abou-Jaoude, vice president for Skanska’s Florida building operations. “The opportunity to support USF Health in this way is just a small portion of the important and invaluable service they’re providing to assist underserved communities throughout Tampa Bay.”
The Mo-Bull Nurse Medical Clinic provides care for underserved populations throughout the Tampa Bay region through annual exams, sick visits, school and sports physicals, immunizations, pregnancy testing, and more. Current sites include Port Tampa: Tampa Seafarer’s Center, The Salvation Army, Sanderlin Neighborhood Family Center, Enoch Davis Center, Lutheran Services, Riverside Recovery, and Wholesome Church.
