United States Army veteran, LaChiana Hamilton, MS, found hope at USF College of Nursing at a time when she felt lost. The college gave her the opportunity to find a new career path in nursing when she never thought she would.

To students, USF College of Nursing preceptor, Raye Minardi, is a hero. She is a role model. She’s someone they look up to. Minardi, who is an advanced nurse practitioner in oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center, is a clinical educator and mentor to USF nurse practitioner (NP) students. She’s been doing so for more than eight years.
Six USF College of Nursing doctoral students were selected to receive 2016-2018 Jonas Scholar awards from the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare. PhD students Paula Cairns, Michelle Hill, Kaitlyn Proschold, Lauren Wright, and DNP students Tiffany Lockett and Michelle Creamer were selected to receive the sought-after grants.
USF Nursing human resources administrator, Diane Lee-Gorden, recently received the 2016 USF Outstanding Staff award. She received the award for demonstrating excellence that supports the overall values and standards of USF.
Nursing student, Emma Jagasia, received the 2016 Golden Bull Award from USF. She was one of 20 USF students to be recognized with this award.
CRNA Student, Meghan Mattson, loves to run. She says, running gives her drive. It gives her positivity and endless energy. Her passion for running began as exercise. But, after many competitive marathons, she knew she was a professional runner.
