Dean Menon Responds to Operation Nightingale
A Statement from USF College of Nursing Dean Usha Menon in response to Operation Nightingale:
“The recent report on falsified nursing school degrees is both heartbreaking and serves as an eye-opener. Clearly, there was enough of a need that prompted these bad actors to develop a scheme that could’ve endangered dozens of lives. Here in South Florida, we really believe in the power of the educational pathways that we offer our undergraduate students. There is no substitute for the didactic and experiential learning that students undergo, and our program leads to the ultimate reward of joining the nursing profession in a professional capacity.
For many years now, nursing has continued to be the most trusted profession in public opinion. Our graduates at USF College of Nursing will continue to fuel that belief in the communities that they so willingly and proudly serve. Watching the hard work and dedication of our nursing students as they complete their programs and achieve their dreams is heartwarming and inspiring. There is no shortcut to becoming a good nurse.”
