Toxicology researchers Ushang P. Desai, Robin DeHate, PhD, Giffe T. Johnson, PhD, and Raymond D. Harbison, PhD, presented a poster entitled “Managing Public Health Risks Using Air Monitoring at a Former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Site” at USF Health Research Day. The event was held on February 22 in Tampa. The researchers established an air monitoring plan for a former gasification plant site in Sanford, FL. The Florida Public Health Training Center (FPHTC), part of the USF College of Public Health’s Center for Leadership in Public Health Practice (CLPHP), presented several on-site training programs in Florida. The following trainings were delivered to Florida Department of Health employees and their community partners. A Field Investigator Response and Surveillance Training, Part Two (I-FIRST 2) was held in Fort Lauderdale Health Department on January 24, 2013, with 34 participants in attendance.
