We are one public health community
Temps in the mid ‘80s. Slight breeze. Picturesque water front setting.
With more than a 150 Bulls on hand, the USF College of Public Health’s first annual BBQ at Riverfront Park was a rocking good time.
Organized by a committee of students, faculty, and staff, the event included games for kids and adults, canoeing, a DJ spinning tunes, great food, and lots of smiles.
“I am reminded every day of how much I love being here and how lucky we are to be a part of something so special,” said Donna Petersen, ScD, MHS, CPH, interim senior vice president for USF Health and dean of the USF College of Public Health. “With a special thanks to Dr. Kate Wolfe-Quintero, the student associations who came together to make this happen, and to everyone else who contributed to the fun!”
Held on April 5, the BBQ was part of the National Public Health Week celebration and a reminder that the college turns 30 this year. Click here to read a story on other festivities happening in the USF College of Public Health.
More events are planned as the college’s 30th anniversary officially kicks off in July. To get involved with planning or make a gift in support of the college, contact Natalie D. Preston, MPA, director of communication and alumni relations, at npreston@health.usf.edu.
