Giving Tuesday: a meaningful way to celebrate the COPH’s 35th Anny
As the USF College of Public Health (COPH) celebrates its 35th anniversary, there are many ways to make an impact on the students, faculty and staff who call the COPH home. One of the best ways to help the college continue to grow and provide more opportunities to its students is by giving financially. Fortunately, an anonymous donor has pledged to match any donations up to $35,000, and the college hopes to double that number in donations from others.
“Gifts in honor of the 35th anniversary of the college will help ensure that our reputation for excellence in public health continues to grow even stronger over the next 35 years. The gifts will also impact student scholarships, research and the programs that make our college one of the top in the nation,” said Kara Steiner, director of annual giving and alumni engagement for USF Health.
Past donations have greatly affected students at the COPH, providing them with scholarships and grants to pursue their passions.
“Higher education is expensive,” said Dr. Donna Petersen, dean of the COPH. “For many of our students, scholarships are the only way they can come study and learn the skills they need to become excellent public health professionals.
Every dollar counts, but one fun way to celebrate the college’s 35th anniversary is to give an amount that signifies that milestone—for example, $35, $350 or even $3,500. Big or small, every gift will continue to provide more opportunities for students and help the COPH maintain its status as one of the best in the country.
