Dr. Yangxin Huang, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, has been awarded the USF Proposal Enhancement Grant entitled “Modeling and Analysis for HIV/AIDS Longitudinal and Survival Data”. This project will develop effective strategies based on the proposed models and methods to quantify long-term HIV dynamics and immune suppression under ARV therapies and to quantatively evaluate that our models and methods perform better than the existed ‘naive’ methods appeared in statistical literature. Professor Wil Milhous has been elected to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Inaugural Class 2011 of Fellows – FASTMH. Fellow member status (FASTMH) is an honor recognizing sustained professional excellence in tropical medicine and global health.  Milhous is a thirty year member of the Society, Founder and Co-Chair of the ASTMH Committee on Global Health, and is past recipient of the  ASTMH LePrince Medal for outstanding work in the field of malariology, as well as the Ashford Medal for distinguished work in tropical medicine.
