Research has linked oral-systemic health with periodontal disease and adverse perinatal outcomes (i.e., preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, prematurity, low birthweight). Prenatal providers (PP) and oral health providers (OHPs) are well-positioned to jointly prevent and manage oral-systemic health conditions among pregnant women. This project aims to elicit factors that influence pregnancy-related oral health prevention behaviors among PPs and OHPs. This project will also explore the promise of inter-professional collaborations in addressing public health issues of significance that have broad oral-systemic implications for women and children throughout the lifespan.
