The Florida Prevention Research Center (FPRC) has been working for a decade to promote the use of safety eyewear that protects thousands of Florida’s Mexican migrant citrus harvesters from eye injuries that affect workers’ eyesight and contribute to the agricultural industry’s $300 million in medical costs and lost worker time each year.  The key FPRC partner in southwest Florida, the Partnership for Citrus Worker Health, was recently featured in a 5-minute broadcast aired on National Public Radio. COPH DrPH student selected as a Doctoral Student Leadership Institute Fellow

Ms. Nichole Murray, a COPH DrPH student in CFH, was selected from almost 100 applicants as a Doctoral Student Leadership Institute Fellow.  She joins eleven other USF students to comprise the inaugural class of the 2012 University of South Florida Graduate School Doctoral Leadership Institute.  The two-year Institute will allow students to: complete a one-semester leadership course, spend at least two semesters shadowing effective leaders, develop and implement a leadership plan, participate in a leadership journal club, participate in leadership conferences/retreats and forums  and serve as a mentor to the […]
